A Law Society in present and previous Commonwealth jurisdictions is an organization of solicitors (efficiently the trade union for solicitors) which has a dictatorial role which includes the correct to manage the training and qualifications of lawyers/solicitors. Where there is a difference between barristers and solicitors, solicitors are regulated by the Solicitors instruction right and barristers by a separate bar council. Incorporated bar associations are rather similar to Law Societies; however there are differences between law societies and the common occurrence of bar associations. Generally a bar association is just an association of lawyers; lawyers may be join or not if they don’t wish. Law societies are regularly formed by legislation and participation important straight roles in the training, licensing and imprisoning of lawyers, the latter giving increase to issues of clash of interest. They may have mainly a money-making focus, or be university-based, such as the college, Academy of Legal Studies in Business, and the Society of Legal Scholars.
